Our Concept

At the heart of our Whiskey Social Club is a simple idea: great whiskey tastes even better with good friends.

We’re a community of enthusiasts and connoisseurs who gather to share our love for the craft, culture, and character of whiskey. Whether you’re a seasoned collector or just starting to explore the world of bourbons and ryes, you’ll find a place at our table.

Our club hosts regular tastings, curated events, barrel picks, and exclusive bottle releases, all designed to deepen our appreciation of the spirit and the stories behind it. We believe whiskey isn’t just a drink — it’s a conversation, a tradition, and an invitation to slow down and savor.

Our Story

Our story began in 2019. We were a small group of friends who would frequently get together to play Texas Hold’Em poker. Each time, someone would bring a selected bottle of whiskey to share and sample, and that’s where our obsession started. No matter the type — Bourbons, Ryes, Canadian, Scotch, Irish – we loved all of it.

Our name origin came from a trifecta of ideas: our newfound love for whiskey, our poker roots, and our location. Our club is comprised of a group of friends who live in Ohio and West Virginia, near the banks of the Ohio River. Additionally, in poker the last card in Texas Hold’Em is referred to as “the river.” So it seemed fitting to roll it all into one: Bourbon our favorite type of whiskey, our location near the Ohio River, and the poker aspect.

And thus, “Bourbon On The River” was formed.

Over the years, our personal collections and knowledge of whiskeys kept expanding to where we are today — a Whiskey Social Club.

The team from Bourbon on the River team has partnered with a variety of renowned distilleries, such as New Riff, Woodford Reserve, Jack Daniel’s, Wild Turkey, Starlight, Middle West, J. Mattingly, Whiskey Thief, Angel’s Envy, and Glenn’s Creek to curate single barrel pick selections.
